Mimolette is a small coffee roaster in Windsor, that thrives within the local community with coffee for every day rituals. It had a logo, but its identity was not yet defined, its personality waiting to be communicated with visuals that represented its craftsmanship and love for coffee.

Mimolette prides itself in roasting coffee in small batches to maintain freshness, before transferring its baked goods to Anais by Mimolette, I handcrafted these illustrations to honour the craftsmanship that comes into producing goods in small businesses. These illustrations were later integrated into Anais by Mimolette's branding to tie both brands as partners.

Art Direction

To represent Mimolette's love for handcrafted goods, and to inspire trust and care to the local community

I brought to life an identity buried under bags of green coffee ready to be roasted. Mimolette's logo had been designed to represent a sailing boat from the coat of arms of the City of Paris. The blue and gold are present in the emblem, but we decided to keep an ink-like blue as the coffee cups are stamped one by one, which shows the detail and care that is put into preparing every cup of coffee.

The hand drawn illustrations, the funky fonts, the vintage ornamental details and the ready-to-start-your-morning clean aesthetic are brought together to remind you of that little cozy cafe in the alleys of Paris that just feel like you will never try a better croissant again.

So, why the different illustration styles? In simple words: because we wanted to have fun with it!
The coffee labels and smoothie menu each required a unique voice to draw attention to the vibrant colours the client had requested.
